During some of my online research to try and find information out about the Schwartz family, I saw a reference to a book titled, “History of Pioneer Valley: The Story of a Century at Sergeant Bluff”. The book was produced and printed locally back in 1954. And, since it seems to have been a very limited run, it’s not easy to find. I had been watching several online used book sellers, as well as eBay, but the book never comes up for sale.

I was scrolling through my Facebook feed this morning and saw a post in a local “items for sale” group, with this book pictured. The person was giving the book to whomever wanted it. I quickly contacted them to see if it was still available. They confirmed it was, and a few hours later, it was in my hands. The woman had gotten a large box of cookbooks, and this book was amongst them. She almost tossed it into the recycle bin, but decided to see if anyone wanted it first.

I have gone through the book, and located the section that talks about the Schwartz Family.
