When we moved in, this room had paneling (painted bright blue) on the bottom part of the walls. Apparently, it was meant to be some sort of wainscoting. Above the paneling, the plaster walls were covered with a thick layer of wall texture compound. The texture was also slopped onto the ceiling and the woodwork. This was all painted a flat grey color, while some of the woodwork was painted flat white. The ceiling was painted white as well. The original fir floors had 3 coats of paint on them; caramel gold, white, and dark brown.
