With the new vent pipes in place, new lath was installed on the ceiling.
Since this wall of the bathroom has its wall studs set sideways, it doesn’t have the same 4 inch cavity as normal walls do. So, the vent pipe doesn’t quite fit inside the wall. To remedy this, we had to increase the depth of the first wall cavity by laying another 2 x 4 on its side on top of the neighboring lath. This will cause the first part of the wall to stick out a little bit, but it will be a lot less intrusive as it was before.
Here, we have the drywall installed. The electrical wire in the metal tube will just have to wait a while longer to be better stowed.
