To begin installing the new supply lines, the toilet had to be removed to make room to work in the confined area of the ceiling cavity. The new supply line taps for the bathtub/shower. The creature that lives in the drain pipe was trying to escape! Sweating some pipe near the main drain stack. The […]
The sink cabinet was disconnected from the supply lines and drain and moved out of the way.  I love how the previous owners basically just painted around the sink cabinet.  There’s a rag stuffed in the drain pipe to keep the sewer gasses from being released in the house. The set up of the supply […]
Time to start putting together the new supply line pipes.  Here, I’m sweating some of the connections. Detail of the sweating process. Testing the fit of the new supply lines.
The area of the bathroom directly above the Dining Room.  We did a little “exploratory surgery” in the top part of the strange box thing in the corner to verify that the pipes were indeed running inside of it.  The vent pipe was visible inside, so…. It was time for all of it to come […]
Removing all of the damaged and loose plaster.  Also taking out any rotted lath boards. Continuing to clean out the loose plaster. The most problematic area of the ceiling, most likely due to many plumbing leaks from the bathroom above.   While we’ve got it all exposed, we are going to redo the plumbing for the […]

The ceiling fan was installed off-center from where the original lighting was installed.  I’m guessing that most likely the house originally had gas lighting. With the ceiling […]
On the east wall, between the windows, we’ve now found a boat and what appears to be a rock. Close up of the boat. On the east wall, near the northeast corner, there are some hills surrounding the first boat we found. Close up of the first boat. On the north wall’s chimney stack, there’s […]
