Parlor – The Restoration (Phase 1) – Ceiling Texture Removal

We wanted to get rid of the ugly popcorn texture on the ceiling, but didn’t really know the best method.  What we ended up using was a large putty knife, like would be used to apply drywall mud when floating the seams.  This seemed to work, however it was a bit messy.

The popcorn scrapes off fairly easily, leaving a semi-smooth surface.

The scraping creates a LOT of mess…
