I wanted the center of the ceiling to look like the sky. So, I applied grey, blue, purple, and white paint using several sizes of brushes and sponges.

The next thing we did was to install a flexible poly moulding on the inside of the wooden bracket structure. Before installing it, we painted it an off-white color in an eggshell sheen. The moulding we chose was a “flat” type (not like a crown moulding type) that was thicker at the top than it was at the bottom. This gives the illusion that it’s actually a crown moulding type without having to be cut on the bias to fit the curve. The moulding has a vine & leaf pattern.
